The history of Hela Gewürzwerk Hermann Laue started in 1905 when Hermann Laue took over a trader in spices and intestines located in the heart of Hamburg. Ever since, the company has been growing thanks to a large number of ideas and innovations.

The development of mixed spices and additives for meat processing, the development portioned spice packages for food and beverages as well as the introduction of the first spice ketchup to the German market were but a few basic foundations for the success of our company.

Today, Hela business partners include not only butchers and meat-processing craftsmen but also global fast food brands, internationally growing trade chains and expanding food makers with far-reaching networks of different production sites.

Even though we live in a time of globalised thinking, requirements and solutions at home remain individual. This is where Hela comes into play, with initiative, drive and a lot of taste.
